Canon 60D test in north of Brazil

This footage was shot at dusk in a small fishing village on the island of Sao Luis in the north of Brazil. Having the fold-out screen was essential. The power of this little “toy” is evident. The feel of the lens is probably more important than the quality of the glass as you’re essentially shooting through the sweet spot of the lens with the 1.6 crop of the sensor. An adapter allowed the easy use of old Nikkor manual focus lenses. This particular footage utilized an 85mm f1.8 D lens wide open the whole time. Steadiness and the shallow focus present formidable challenges, but practice and feel for the situation, as well as the feel of the focusing ring on the lens, all make crucial differences
